In Memoriam Silvia L. Garcia

A founding partner of Garcia & Birge, Silvia was a champion of social justice and equal rights in the workplace. Silvia received her B.A. from Harvard University, and graduated from UC  Berkeley’s Boalt Hall School of Law in 1993. She was a long time member, and Board Member, of San Diego La Raza Lawyers Association, and she served as “Abogada Consultora” for the Mexican Consulate in San Diego. Silvia also served as the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the California Rural Legal Assistance Foundation. Both institutions honored Ms. Garcia posthumously though special memorial scholarships. Silvia was a magnificent lawyer, a steadfast friend, and she is missed by the many people who came to rely on her intellect, compassion, and integrity.
